The Pom Wonderful Dinner Party
As some of you may know, the marvelously generous people at POM Wonderful recently sent me an unconscionable number of pomegranates (44!) and a very risque apron and a cutting board in hopes that I would do something wonderful with these things. Well, I’ve done my best, and here is the best rehash I could muster. Much of the description of the party is in the captions of the pictures in...

Name-Your-Price Fundraiser Jewelry Sale
Long Island Food Not Bombs recently received a donation of a case of vintage necklaces and pins. Rather than distributing them at our food share, we thought it would be best to sell as many as we can to raise money for more food, clothing and supplies. Much of our food is donated, but occasionally we need supplements, especially for the hot meals we prepare for some of the shares. If you are...

Letters to imaginary future boyfriends, part 1
hungarians eat gelatinous things and i apologize in advance for any future dinners you will have to endure with my parents korom porkolt and the like, inherited dishes of bone and claws and the stories about the time my baby sister asked from the back of the car what sodomy was after mom had taken us to see hair with my good catholic girl of a friend.

I was thinking “Seasons”, because pretty soon there aren’t going to be any anymore. “It got down to 28 degrees in January,” he told me. “It snowed.” “That’s just unnatural for New...

i've been dressing like crap lately
i think i’ve forgotten how. that, or my room’s too messy for me to be able to put together a cohesive outfit because i can’t find half the parts. this is a cry for help.

oh you you you
I read a found poem created entirely out of lines from a mini-dictionary for tourists. It inspired me to write a poem out of several Missed Connections posts on Craigslist. I copied a bunch of them, broke them into lines, then deleted the stuff I knew I didn’t like. I printed out two copies of the rest, cut them apart and taped them back together. I did not add a single word or mark, apart...
